For anyone starting from zero
Our normal price, $40 to $50 depending on the borough, assumes a swap: you give Rodrigo an empty cylinder and he gives you a full one. If you have never owned a tank, or you moved into a place with a grill and no tank, or your old one is beyond saving, there is nothing to swap.
That is what the $40 is for. It buys you a brand new, empty 20lb cylinder, which is then yours. Rodrigo delivers it full, so your first order is the borough price plus $40, and it arrives ready to cook on.
You only ever pay it once
This is the part worth being clear about, because it is the one thing people misread. The $40 is not a rental or a deposit and it is not charged again. Once you own a cylinder you always have an empty to trade in, so every delivery after the first is simply $40 to $50.
Practically, the cheapest way to run a grill or a heater in this city is to own two cylinders and always be one swap ahead. A lot of customers buy the second one for exactly that reason.
What you get
A new 20lb steel cylinder with the standard QCC-1 valve and overfill protection device, which is the fitting every modern gas grill and patio heater expects. It carries a current manufacture date, so it has its full requalification life ahead of it rather than a few years.
It comes delivered full of propane. There is nothing to assemble and no separate trip.
