Propane Delivery NYC is run by Rodrigo Atiencia. When you call, he is the one who answers. When the tank shows up, he is the one carrying it.
The problem we exist for
New York City is a hard place to own a gas grill. The tank under it holds 20lb of propane and weighs around 37lb when it is full. You are not supposed to carry it on the subway. Most people here do not have a car. And the exchange cages outside suburban hardware stores are, from an apartment in Harlem or a brownstone in Bed-Stuy, effectively somewhere else entirely.
So people give up. The grill sits empty on the roof deck. The heater on the terrace goes unused through a cold October. That is the problem: not the propane, the getting of it.
What we do about it
Rodrigo drives the tank to your door instead. He hands you the full cylinder, takes the empty one away, and you pay him on the spot. In Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, it is $40 to $50, which is the whole price with no delivery fee bolted on.
We only carry one size, the standard 20lb cylinder, and it is only for barbecues and heaters. That is a deliberate limit. It means the tank you need is always the tank on the truck.
Why the prices are on the website
Nearly every propane company in this city hides its pricing behind a quote form. We think that is a way of not answering the question. So the numbers are on the homepage, on the pricing page, and on every borough page: $50 in Manhattan, $50 in Brooklyn, $40 in Queens.
You should know what a thing costs before you call about it. That is the entire philosophy.
